Self-Directed Learning in EFL During Covid-19 Pandemic: Teacher’s Perception and Students’ Learning Autonomy

Due to the global outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), new regulations require students study from home so that must be able independently. This aimed analyze teachers' perceptions self-directed learning (SDL) and SDL components can identified online activities assigned by teachers during COVID-19 pandemic. research was designed in form embedded mixed-method research. An English teacher at a high school selected as participant. Furthermore, data were collected through questionnaires, observations, classification tables. The results showed that: 1) with score 4.00, perceive themselves "knowledgeable" about knowledge, 3.57, "expected" or often carry out support SDL, 3.88, assessing impact “influential” on students, 2) reflected are “developing sense belonging learning” student self-monitoring” self-management.” Thus, positively, there two promoted activities.
